Homens que perderam a confiança em si e no mundo. Homens que vivem ameaçados não apenas pelo que os circundam, mas, sobretudo, pelo que os constituem. Homens que precisam se defender deles próprios, além dos outros. Homens amortecidos, mofados, petrificados. Homens desumanizados. Homens que são homens, mas vivem como homens-fósseis.
Kansas, espetáculo com direção e dramaturgia de Gabriela Mellão e interpretação de Ester Lacava, Erika Puga, Alexandre Stockler, Clovys Tôrres e Plínio Soares, faz um recorte nesta nova espécie humana que se disseminou pelo globo e dá origem à atual humanidade. A obra é fruto da extensa pesquisa “os medos que pairam sobre nós”, sobre medo na contemporaneidade, idealizada pela agência publicitária FCB.
O título do espetáculo surge em referência a uma frase emblemática de O Mágico de Oz: “We’re not in Kansas anymore”. Evocação do paraíso perdido, Kansas simboliza um lugar que não existe mais, e a falta de segurança, tranquilidade e solidez que acompanha esta privação. Sem Kansas, o que resta é o medo. Medo deste mundo incerto, regido por ameaças de todos os lados, no qual os seres humanos testemunham o aniquilamento de si próprios ora em desespero ora em um anestesiamento profundo.
Kansas é uma imersão sensorial no universo dos medos da contemporaneidade. Fruto de uma extensa pesquisa sobre o tema, o espetáculo expõe a precariedade do mundo hoje ao apresentar estilhaços de vida de homens asfixiados por sua própria humanidade.
O espetáculo constrói um espelhamento poético a partir de reflexões originadas em um estudo sobre o medo na contemporaneidade idealizado pela agência FCB Brasil e realizado pelo coletivo Tsuru com cerca de 2 mil brasileiros.
A pesquisa inclui discussões teóricas com estudiosos sobre o tema, como o psico-bio-físico Samuel Souza, o sociólogo Miguel Jost e o psiquiatra Paulo Ficks, pesquisador do PROVE (Programa de Atendimento e Pesquisa em Violência).
A dramaturgia do espetáculo adapta textos diversos, como falas extraídas da própria pesquisa, trechos inspiradores de Rodrigo Garcia e Angelica Liddell, dois gigantes da nova dramaturgia mundial, entre outros escritores da contemporaneidade, como o escritor e teatrólogo Bertold Brecht e o poeta Paul Celan.
O texto se serve ainda do material gerado em quase um ano de criação coletiva com os núcleos criativos do espetáculo formados pelos artistas Ester Laccava, Erika Puga, Alexandre Stockler, Clovys Tôrres, Plínio Soares, Luciana Ramanzini, Aline Santini, Antonio Salvador, Reinaldo Soares, Aline Abovsky, Tono Guimarães e Lutz Gallmesteir.
O espetáculo expõe a precariedade da humanidade hoje. Apresenta estilhaços de vida de homens-fósseis. Eles vivem em cena suas buscas incertas por amor, validação, segurança e paz, entre outros alicerces primordiais da existência, enquanto se asfixiam em um aquário humano, ora em desespero ora em anestesiamento profundo.
O aquário humano sugere um afogamento simbólico coletivo. É um dos pilares do espetáculo, que se propõe a retratar, sobretudo sensorialmente, a pesquisa sobre o medo na contemporaneidade.
O desenrolar de uma cerimônia de entrega de prêmio também serve de base de sustentação da obra. As cenas lançam olhar crítico tanto para os jurados quanto para os indicados que supostamente serão premiados e, mesmo sem querer, se veem presos dentro das engrenagens do sistema que regem a roda da vida das grandes cidades hoje.
É um retrato da cruel realidade, recurso simbólico para a representação do homem de forma geral, moldado por diversas formas de organizações.
